Summary
Edinburgh’s only Afghan shop, Saraswati is located at 35 Guthrie Street, Edinburgh and will be hosting a fashion show at it’s neighbouring venue, the GRV. This fun and informal fashion show will give you a chance to see some of the clothes sold there. The fashion show will be followed by an auction where you will have a chance to purchase clothes you will have seen modelled, some one off pieces and other Afghan crafts, including the well renowned Afghan Carpets.

All this will take place to Afghan music, with a backdrop of images of Afghanistan and excerpts of some of the films entered into the Reel Afghanistan Film Festival. The doors open at 8pm with the fashion show beginning at 9pm. The evenings entertainment also includes a theatre performance by Nafas Theatre Group.
Nafas (London Guild Hall) - In Sept 2007 singer and voice coach Annemette Verspeak worked with women in Kabul on Confidence through Voice and Singing. Here, through sound and movement and in the company of actresses Grace Vallorani, Sarah McCardie and Mezhgan Hakimy she shares her impressions of these women and the consequence of their history on their thinking and their spirit. The evening is topped off with an Afghan Party that will continue until 3am. Join us for this celebration with music and dancing aplenty!
